Twins trade Edwin Diaz, RP NYM (PP-20) plus 2020-21 RFA tag to Tigers for Mike Yastrzemski, OF SF (20: $2M, 21: $2M), Trevor Williams, SP PIT (PP-21), Jarlin Garcia, RP MIA (PP-21), and Abiatal Avelino, MI SF (Prospect). Tigers to confirm.
I like Diaz’s chances for a bounce back in 2020, but I also wanted to fill multiple needs with affordable MLers. I realize Garcia was DFA’d, but I think he lands on his feet (and on a 40-man) elsewhere.
