Yep, we get it. Your choice. We are just voicing our opinion and showing how another league responded, just to give folks the other side of the discussion.

And the vote we are discussing here is for Ventura to get Sup Rd #3 Compensation, which is quite a bit different from two Sup Rd #1 picks.
All we said initially was that the rule should be clearly posted going forward. This "left to the discretion of league management" is the off-putting element some some of us. If it's going to be related to how the board views the player's value if he went to free agency, then post that in the rule. Post something as definite and concrete as possible.

Death is not part of the game, any game. Anyone using that as an excuse for not being generous to a fellow league owner who lost their best player to tragedy is just an asshole. Sorry, but that's the simple truth.
I think debates on these sort of things are healthy for the league, any league. Especially one this large where the elite talents carry that much more weight. But the idea that in a FREE league this deep, we can't all come together collectively to say, "Hey man, that's a really shitty break. Here's a couple 3rd Rd. Comp picks." just seems greedy to me. Maybe I'm too nice? Haha.
I imagine we're all here because we love the game of baseball and fantasy baseball. We're all likely competitive people too, some more than others. But this league is for ZERO dollars. Why get so bent out of shape over a couple of 3rd Rd. comp. picks? Guys who may or may not ever make an impact at the ML level.
Also...I play in a 20 team league, buy in is $300. Real money on the line. And guys have collectively said (16-3) that they are for some sort of comp. for the loss of J. Fernandez. I don't care either way, but it seems silly that someone could be so strongly against something so insignificant.

I don't think anyone here is an a-hole for debating something, & it ultimately is the decision of the Commish to keep the league healthy. The death of any player is tragic. I also feel empathy for the Mgr. that has David Price, if he ultimately has to have TJ surgery. A terrible blow to Price & the Red Sox in real life & to all fantasy Mgrs. that have him on their team.

To clarify, I didn't say "Debating" makes you an asshole. I said saying "Death is part of the game" makes you an asshole. Big difference.

Yeah, name-calling is way uncalled for. We meant to mention that. We are discussing ideas here, not personalities.
