Having had so many offers on Willson Contreras C/OF CHC this winter, we've decided to formally consider offers for him. His bat and youth, his low salary and remaining years of player control, his multi-position eligibility -- all make him a very  strong pick up for a team needing to fill a catcher slot or to fill a roster at UTIL or OF.

We are looking for a serious return on a high-quality player. He is not a bargain pick up. Serious offers only, please. We are not positive we will trade him; we don't know what we want. We do know that we will recognize a strong offer when we see one.

We need to clear Phil Hughes SP/RP MIN and his $13.2M salary to clear space for adding a SB guy we won in bidding. We will take any spec and can even take back some cap. Creative ideas welcome.

Hughes comes off thoracic outlet surgery and may be a lot better pitcher than he showed the first outing after return. If you need an arm, Hughes may be a good, under the radar pick-up.
