We ran a Search and saw Giants drafted Josh Staumont last year in Rd #5.13, as you mention above, Luke. But when we checked Giants team page here on proboards, we found no Josh Staumont. Nor is Staumont on Giants Fantrax page roster. He comes up as FA on a Fantrax player search.
Doesn't that mean Josh Staumont is available and a valid claim? The "paper trail" shows guy is SF property, even thought the GM neglected to add him to either forum. We have an electronic trail just to catch these sorts of errors, so Staumont should be SF Giants property, right?

No, the pick this year was good. Giants forfeited Staumont with non-roster.

I'm always wary of this if someone has them on one roster but not the other. However, if he's not on either roster for a year then it's tough to say they should have the chance to keep hold of someone.
If someone spots it and wants to give a gentle reminder to pick someone up then fine but it's got to be on the GM to know their roster.

Ya, there are a couple things at play here that need corrected.
Rules state its the responsibility of the owner to update ProBoards and Fantrax to properly reflect their rosters. I've seen cases here where a player is listed on ProBoards, but not on Fantrax. Listed on Fantrax, but not on ProBoards. Listed on Fantrax, but zero listings in their transaction history for where/when they were acquired. If you can't update your roster on ProBoards, and more importantly you can't update it on Fantrax then...how is another owner supposed to know who is or isn't owned? I'd also like to state the obvious, ProBoards search isn't accurate. In my opinion, Fantrax should be the most accurate, up to date reflection of one's roster because of how dense ProBoards can get, and how human error is obviously creeping in to some people's team pages.
Not trying to pick on the White Sox here but, a player I tried tracking recently, Walker Buehler. He's owned by the White Sox on Fantrax yet there's no listing of him on his Team Page. There's no listing of him in his Transaction History and he's not listed on his Archived Roster from 2016 either. I do see, that he was taken in the 2016 FYPD at 2.11 but...I don't think an owner should have to go back that far either to find out where a player is.
My point, I think it's perfectly acceptable for someone to forget to add or update a player to their ProBoards or Fantrax roster. But if you own a player, or acquire a player via trade they should either be updated on your transaction list, or updated on Fantrax page within 30 days. If they aren't, then you could run in to some serious complaints from owners feeling they followed the rules, while others didn't.

The general consensus with these leagues is that you have to at least roster him on Fantrax, as that has good search features while Proboards leaves a lot to be desired. In another league Tim and I are in, someone just lost Daniel Gossett because they failed to roster them in Fantrax. Personally, I try to nudge owners to pick up their players when I can or because I'm a Fantrax admin in some of those leagues, I'll pick the player up for them. But there is no requirement to report these players, and unless the Commish comes and says that the window that he was unrostered was too small (not the case here), Staumont is fair game.
