2017 Dynasty GM Baseball Playoffs

It's that time of year again. Playoffs begin this Monday, Sept 4th.

From the rules page...

"At the end of the Regular Season 8 teams will make it to the H2H playoffs and will be seeded as so:

Seed 1 - Division Winner #1 - (Team with the most Roto points)
Seed 2 - Division Winner #2 - (Team that wins it's division regardless of having the second most Roto points or not)
Seed 3 - Wild card #1 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 4 - Wild card #2 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 5 - Wild card #3 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 6 - Wild card #4 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 7 - Wild card #5 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 8 - Wild card #6 - Next best Roto Point total

Seeds 3-8 will be determined by the Combined Standings tab on Fantrax. This will be the determining factor in playoff seeding.

If two teams are tied at the end of the regular season the team that has a better ERA will get the higher seed. If both teams have the same ERA and same amount of Roto points at the end of the season then a second tie breaker of Runs scored will determine who goes into the higher seed.

These 8 teams will go into a head to head format where they will play each other to determine who the champion is. If after the one week H2H battle both teams are tied the team with the higher seeding will move on to the next round. This is to put greater incentive on teams trying to win the division and from just trying to make it into the playoffs."

Quarterfinals - Monday September 4th - Sunday September 10th

Semifinals - Monday September 11th - Sunday September 17th

'The Series' - Monday September 18th - Sunday October 1st

Note that the final is a two week matchup. A new Fantrax league has been created, all owners currently in the playoff hunt should be able to access it from My Leagues in Fantrax. Match ups will be set and everything finalized by Monday morning, September 4th.

Periodic updates of matchups will be posted on this league page for anyone who wants to keep up with the playoffs.

Still have a close race for AL champ between Houston and Texas and a bit of a three way race for the 7th and 8th spots. End of the regular season is Sunday.

Being new to this league & just having looked at the fantrax playoff league, do we have to pay again for the playoff league?

No. I will have to pare the number of teams down to make it a free league. We was planning on just leaving the playoff teams in the playoff league but it can leave up to 24

I pared the playoff bracket down to the eight playoff teams. Playoffs begin today, H2H match-ups are as follows...

8) Detroit at 1) Houston

7) Cleveland at 2) Milwaukee

6) Boston at 3) Texas

5) Arizona at 4) Miami

Just shut up already! I still have a few days to crawl back. Biggest problem I'm having is fielding enough hitters. Play Goldy! He's fine!
I won my division here and in Ruthian. I'm getting absolutely hammered over there. Oh well. Keep making the playoffs and I'll win one of these damn leagues eventually.

0 HR's and 3 RBI's for the Brewers...not bad compared to my 6/25 line Losing Goldy def. hurts you though...

I've always said, I enjoy the regular season of fantasy baseball way more than the playoffs. It's just too random. I was a heavy fav. going in to my 20 Team, 1st Rd. Matchup in another league and my opponent is easily having their best week of the season and I'm having one of my worst. Tis' fantasy baseball though. So unpredictable.

Houston took the tiebreaker with Detroit, Cleveland upended Milwaukee (...sigh), Texas took care of Boston, and the Marlins ended Arizona's chance of a repeat. Good luck to all those headed to the semifinals.
