1- Wil Myers RF R- don’t have prototypical lead off hitter but Myers has some speed and I like altering L/R, has shown good walk rates in the past 2- Luis Arraez 2B L- best OBP/BA guy on my team, I like him in the two hole, advancing Myers for my big bats to drive in 3- Christian Walker 1B R- Best power guy on my team last year 4- Ryan McMahon 3B L- improved a lot the second half of last season and had a decent walk rate 5- Adam Duvall CF R- Myles Straw can be a defensive replacement if needed, plenty of pop and keeps the l/r alternating going 6- Michael Conforto DH L- I think he’s my worst defensive player 7- Jonah Heim C B- I like Heim and Urias but obviously the weaker part of my order, I’m not sure if Massey can play SS 8- Ramon Urias SS R 9- Max Kepler LF L- with some speed, I like him hitting ninth with possibly turning over the order, expect better things w. No shift

Starling Marte LF Bo Bichette SS Aaron Judge RF Alex Bregman 3B Sean Murphy C Oneil Cruz DH Eugenio Suarez 1B Brandon Drury 2B Trent Grisham CF
Middle infield defence could be a little rough, but should put up enough numbers on the other side of the ball. Biggest question is where to play Cruz. Seems too good an athlete to DH, but think Bichette is a better SS and can’t see Cruz being able to handle the turn at 2B. Drury is no star there, but probably the safer bet.

Oh boy... 1 - Brendan Donovan, STL (SS) 2 - Jose Altuve, HOU (2B) 3 - Jose Abreu, HOU (1B) 4 - Oscar Gonzalez, CLE (LF) 5 - Mitch Garver, TEX (C) 6 - AJ Pollock, SEA (RF) 7 - Nelson Cruz, SDP (DH) 8 - David Villar, SFG (3B) 9 - Esteury Ruiz, OAK (CF)
Bench depth: Garret Cooper Edwin Rios Addison Barger Maikel Garcia Kerry Carpenter
Lots of questions marks. I'm hoping I can hit on enough upside and have enough injury depth to compete.

1. Mookie Betts, CF. No choice but to play Mookie in CF. 2. Carlos Santana, 1B. Career .359 OBP. Probably part-time DH. 3. Andrew McCutchen, LF. 4. Anthony Santander, RF. 5. Brandon Belt, DH. 6. Rodolfo Castro, 3B 7. Ryan Jeffers, C. 8. Ezequiel Tovar, SS 9. Brice Turang, 2B.
Yikes. Everything hinges on the two prospect MIs turning over the order. If they produce, they’ll move up and make this look better. Still, too many part-timers and past-their-primes here.

1. Either Jarren Duran or Alek Thomas (OF) - not an ideal way to start a lineup but hoping one of these former top prospects takes off 2. Jazz Chisholm (MI) 3. Ian Happ (OF) 4. Luke Voit / Jesus Aguilar (CI) 5. William Contreras (C) 6. Austin Meadows (OF) 7. Bryan de la Cruz (OF) 8. Trey Mancini (CI) 9. Christopher Morel (MI)
Bench : Edward Olivares (OF/KC) Luis Rengifo (MI/CI/LAA) Will Benson (OF/CIN)
Prospects I expect to get MLB time : Yainer Diaz (C/HOU) Christian Encarnacion-Strand (CI/CIN) Matt Mervis (CI/CHC) Colton Cowser (OF/BAL) Estivan Florial (OF/NYY)
Lots of pressure on young shoulders but that said, there is no pressure, this team ain't winning in 2023. Aim is to move up 10 spots higher than 2022 (24th) and establish a foundation for a contender.

1. Byron Buxton RF -> Hoping for some health here. When on the field, he's been great. 2. Oswald Peraza 2B -> Fighting for a roster spot, could be an impact bat if he can find some playing time. 3. Fernando Tatis Jr. SS -> Won't play there for the Padres, but he's the linchpin to my team. 4. Brian Anderson 3B -> hoping for a rebound here, cheap investment 5. Joey Bart C -> Bart's exit velo leads me to believe there's more coming, if he can stop striking out. 6. Christian Bethancourt 1B -> not a full time player, but I believe he'll be useful 7. David Hensley DH -> Hensley should win a decent role with the Astros 8. Cooper Hummel LF -> another role player that I believe should be good for 300 ABs plus 9. Tim LoCastro CF -> With Gonzalez and Bouchard's injuries, I'm forced to rely LoCastro, even though he's headed for AAA. Dirden might fit here too.

Might as well take a shot at this
1. Kyle Scwarber LF PHI 2. Andres Gimenez SS CLE 3. Joey Votto 1B CIN 4. Evan Longoria DH ARI/Jeimer Candelerio WAS 5. Jonathan Schoop 2B DET 6. Gio Urshela 3B LAA 7. Gabriel Moreno C ARI 8. Jesus Sanchez RF MIA 9. Chas McCormick CF HOU
Leadoff is hard to choose but out of everyone he gets on base the best and has lead off IRL. Gimenez is a good fit at the 2. 3,4 and 5 are past their prime but it is the best spot relative to the rest of the lineup. The bottom of the order is very inexperienced and inconsistent which kind of reflects the status of the offense on the team as a whole.
