To our Dynasty GM family I'm sorry to say we lost El Guapo recently. His son confirms Ed passed shortly after his last surgery. The folks in Ed's league Hight&Tight asked me to let you all know.
He'll be sorely missed in all the leagues he was in and most certainly by the H&T family in the league he created. He taught me so much about dynasty baseball and other facets of life in our talks. I'll miss his feistiness and his arguments/discussions (all in good fun) he had with many owners, especially in here. He was one of the best.
Rest In Peace my friend.

That is truly bad news. He was so fun to talk baseball with. If our league were to write a letter to the family, think we could get it to his family?

I don't have direct access but I can ask our LM in H&T and see if they could get it to his family if you'd like?

Terrible news. So sorry to hear.
It’s actually difficult to imagine this league without him.

Shocking & sad to hear this. Thought he would be back after a surgery recovery in about 6 weeks. Never imagined that he would not make it. Life is short. R.I.P.

He will for sure be missed. Not only was he super helpful with the draft tracking he also brought a fun sense of humor to the discussions/chats. RIP Guapo

Spent a lot of time thinking about Guapo since I heard. Still can't believe it. I've enjoyed this league, along with 2 others I played in with him. Engaged with Guapo more than any other owner. Lots of banter. Realizing now that he's one of the main reasons I come back.
Will be missed and maybe, just maybe I'll root for his Yankees come postseason.

It's strange realizing the attachments formed with someone you've never even met in person. These leagues are an escape from what can be a pretty stressful life, and the affinity for a niche game that we share creates unexpected bonds. This one hurts. Guapo was cut from a different mold and I found myself alternately frustrated with and appreciative of his questions and arguments. But I always left any interaction chuckling. I will miss that most.

Yep- so true, Brad. Particularly over the last strange couple of years I spent quite a bit of time chatting to Ed here and it’s really sad for someone to suddenly be gone like that. He seemed to have a nice life carving out for himself down in Tampa, so I hope his last few were happy ones.

Way late here. But RIP.
I met Ed in person several years ago. Very nice person. He loved Baseball as much as anyone I have ever known.
