"Player goes unclaimed, of which the posting team will be responsible for 50% of the remaining contract. This can be spread over the life of the voided contract (Example: Miguel Montero's contract pays him through 2018 - 16:$6m, 17:$5m, 18:$4m. Waiver penalties would be 16:$3M, 17:$2.5M, 18:$2M) or teams can utilize the league Buyout Clause (see below) ... ...FREE AGENT BUYOUT CLAUSE Each team has the ability to buyout the remaining contract of any player. The Buyout Clause allows for teams to eat the remaining salary on a one year hit. For example, Miguel Montero's contract pays him through 2018 - 16:$6m, 17:$5m, 18:$4m. Under the Buyout Clause you would take a one year hit of $7.5M - ($6M+$5M+$4M) x 50% - and be free of penalties for 2017-18. This allows for teams to get out from under bad contracts sooner."

Can you place claims on specs? If so I want claims on Martin, Plutko and Morgan.

Cards would like to enter a claim for Tropeano. Would like to claim Chris Lee to if I can. It's not possible to claim specs Ben (I've tried!). I think the drill with waiver claims is to send them to the FA Bids account, but Brad can confirm. Would actually be useful to have a couple of lines in the rules on the process, as I always forget.

The waiver claim rule is like Ragu. It's in there. You just have to look. You submit your waiver claims to fabids and at the end of 72 hours after the player has been waived, Brad announces the winner. If you do submit a waiver claim, which is rare for these leagues, it doesn't hurt to also PM Brad and let him know he's got a waiver claim waiting to be examined

WAIVING PLAYERSA GM has the right to waive any player to free agency. To waive a player you must post him in your team's waiver thread located in the Free Agency Tab > Waivers, Releases, and Options > Waivers. This will make permanent the decision to waive a player to free agency (non-revocable). Once posted, a player will be subject to hold for a 72 hour period, during which two actions can be taken. 1. Player can be claimed by another team, of which posting team will receive nothing in return and the claiming team will take on the player and his entire contract. If 2 teams place a claim for the same period, waiver order will be consulted (which will be determined by the reverse order of Inaugural Draft). Once the season starts, the waiver order will be subject to the standings, in reverse order, as of the previous scoring Monday. 2. Player goes unclaimed, of which the posting team will be responsible for 50% of the remaining contract. This can be spread over the life of the voided contract (Example: Miguel Montero's contract pays him through 2018 - 16:$6m, 17:$5m, 18:$4m. Waiver penalties would be 16:$3M, 17:$2.5M, 18:$2M) or teams can utilize the league Buyout Clause (see below)

I would have posted that last time, but it's much easier to do it from a computer than from a phone.

Orioles win the rights to Nick Tropeano and take on his contract (PP/19). No waiver penalty for the Giants.
