ROSTER
Each owner will have a Major League Roster composed of 25 players. These are the only players eligible to start in a given lineup period, and thus the only ones who can accrue stats for your team. You will have the option of selecting the players to fill the following active positions on your roster. Only your active roster will accumulate stats, as opposed to your bench which will not. The active roster spots are as follows:
(4) Starting Pitchers
(4) Relief Pitchers
(2) Flex Pitcher
(1) Catcher
(2) CI (1B or 3B)
(2) MI (2B or SS)
(3) OF
(1) Utility (any position)
For a total of 19 active players
The other 6 guys on your Major League roster will simply stay on your bench. To limit the effect of streaming, a maximum weekly IP limit of 60 IP will be in effect. This limit will apply during the H2H playoffs.
Unlimited DL spots will be available, however only players that are currently on the DL may be able to be placed on the DL. Once a player has come off the DL in real life, he must also be placed back on the active roster with 48 hours. Failure to do so is an illegal roster, and all statistics beyond that 48 hour period will be void until all active roster obligations are fulfilled.
We will use Fantrax defaults to determine positional eligibility. These can be found on the Fantrax league homepage under the League Rules Summary Tab.
SCORING
The statistical categories that will be tabulated to determine the league champion each year are split into two major areas. Pitching and hitting. The categories are as follows:
* Pitching – Quality Starts, Saves, Holds, Strikeouts, ERA, WHIP
* Hitting – Runs, HR's, RBI's, Stolen Bases, Batting Average, OPS
This is a 12 - category roto league. This format has been created to optimize the activity and chatter in the league and to promote trading between teams.
PLAYOFFS
At the end of the Regular Season 8 teams will make it to the H2H playoffs and will be seeded as so:
Seed 1 - Division Winner #1 - (Team with the most Roto points)
Seed 2 - Division Winner #2 - (Team that wins it's division regardless of having the second most Roto points or not)
Seed 3 - Wild card #1 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 4 - Wild card #2 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 5 - Wild card #3 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 6 - Wild card #4 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 7 - Wild card #5 - Next best Roto Point total
Seed 8 - Wild card #6 - Next best Roto Point total
Seeds 3-8 will be determined by the Combined Standings tab on Fantrax. This will be the determining factor in playoff seeding.
If two teams are tied at the end of the regular season the team that has a better ERA will get the higher seed. If both teams have the same ERA and same amount of Roto points at the end of the season then a second tie breaker of Runs scored will determine who goes into the higher seed.
These 8 teams will go into a head to head format where they will play each other to determine who the champion is. If after the one week H2H battle both teams are tied the team with the higher seeding will move on to the next round. This is to put greater incentive on teams trying to win the division.
