We thought 5 years was the longest contract allowed:
The maximum salary that maybe offered in a one year contract is 15M Average Annual Salaries between 15-18M must be offered a minimum of 2 years. Average Annual Salaries between 18-21M must be offered a minimum of 3 years. Average Annual Salaries between 21-25M must be offered a minimum of 4 years. Average Annual Salaries exceeding 25M annually must exceed 4 years in length, max length is 5 years.
ASTROS
OF - George Springer, HOU - 6 yr/$180M - $30M AAS, 20:$24M 21:$24M 22:$36M 23:$36M 24:$30M 25:$30M

Honest mistake. Every other dynasty league max years is 6 for an Amount this high and the draft picks were max 6 years. Just drop year 2025 and everything else works.

Others made honest mistakes on bidding structures or spreads as well and their bids were deemed illegal. I'll need to take a look to resort the bids. Everyone hold off on matching anything else in case there is a domino affect. 48 hour clock won't start until I make corrections.
Sorry. Thanks Guapo for pointing that out.

Don't bother. All my bids were 6 years. This is raging pile of bullshit but whatever.

Don't bother. All my bids were 6 years. This is raging pile of bullshit but whatever. This league has rules so there is no thought of favoritism, an issue that arises periodically in all the other leagues I'm in. I've invalidated my own bids in the past as well. Sorry I didn't catch it on the first go-round.

All the bids are corrected. Didn't effect anyone who has already matched. Springer goes to Reds and Altuve gets bumped to Cardinals.

I've invalidated plenty of bids myself, but for AAS issues or 80/120 violations or too few years. 1st time I ever seen a bid violated for too many years.

"Bids that do not have the sufficient number of years, however, will be invalid regardless of AAS."
As often is the case in constitutional matters, precise language allows for multiple, reasonable interpretations. The key word here is "sufficient," which can mean "enough," as in "having met the minimum required." "Sufficient" also can mean "qualified" and "what is necessary or desirable."
I don't have a dog in the hunt. I'm simply pointing out that there are plausible arguments both ways, and FWIW I support whatever the commissioner decides or already has decided.

However, in this case the number of years is strictly defined (see Guapo's post above or RFA rules where max contract length is specifically stated as 5 years) so the term 'sufficient' is not open to interpretation as would be the case were the max not so clearly defined.
