As I've grown older I have grown away from the High Life to a more bountiful beer. We have a few local breweries we frequent now a days. The one has a nice Bourbon Beer that I like a lot on a Nitro Tap. If I have to stray from the local guys I do enjoy a nice Sweet Baby Jesus. Really anything but an IPA. Think they taste like soap to me lol.

Damn west coasters get so much beer that we east coasters never see. Plenty of good beer here in New England though. Pretty Things and Night Shift almost always satisfy. Maine Beer Co has been doing some good work. If you have the time and energy tho drive way out into the middle of nowhere Oxbow Brewing (Maine) and Hill Farmstead (Vermont) are incredible. I don't think you can get either outside of their home state though.

Micros are proliferating down South as well. We lived in the Triangle area of NC (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) before moving to the mountains and closer to Asheville. The beer scenes in both places, and places in between, is impressive. Fullsteam, Lonerider, Carolina Brewery, DuckRabbit, Foothills, Natty Greene's, Red Oak are some of the better lowland breweries while Highlands, Catawaba, and French Broad are some of my favorite Asheville spots.

I went to Miami Oxford (Ohio) and lived in a house with 40 drunk guys, so I never touched the stuff. It was a great time being the DD and only one who can remember most stories of what actually happened.
Here in Cincinnati though, MadTree, Rhinegeist, and Bad Tom are the top locals.

Franziskaner both Hefe and Crystal Weissen Bier. We used to call it Monks Beer while stationed in Germany.

Can you get to Heady Topper? I just scored am bottle of parabola

Can you get to Heady Topper? I just scored am bottle of parabola Hill Farmstead makes great stuff. Most of what I have had has been very sessiony, low ABV fresh hopped ales. Delicious, but not the kind of beer I would necessarily expect to get as much love as it has. Right up my alley though. I can't reliably find my way to Heady Topper here in Boston but will keep an eye out next time I am in VT. I haven't been on the west coast in almost two years so my knowledge of the beer scene there is WAY out of date.
