Would be interesting to hear why people would vote for one or the other. Why do some think doing 4 SP slots, 4RP slots and 2 P slots is better than 3-3-3? Essentially that's like saying having more P slots (which could be used either way) are not as good. Don't you guys see P slots have more flexibility and so are better than the more restrictive SP or RP slots?
Just looking to understand the vote better.

Going with the more restrictive 4/4/2 scenario limits the amount of off the wall strategies an owner can try, I.e. strategies that would never be utilized in real life and are only relevant to fantasy baseball. It's fun to find the niches and competitive advantages that the rules allow but I feel like most leagues try to simulate MLB transaction and lineup managing experience as closely as possible - as they should. That being said, 4/4/2 certainly allows for plenty of flexibility and weird iterations of a pitching staff.

I actually didn't notice the 5/5 option until I typed the above. I changed my vote to that based on the same reasoning.

It should be 10 pitchers total, no matter what, so 3/3/3 should be 3/3/4, but if we have limits, you should just have 10 P, no SP or RP defined

It should be 10 pitchers total, no matter what, so 3/3/3 should be 3/3/4, but if we have limits, you should just have 10 P, no SP or RP defined we can't do that because because people planned for a league with 5 RPs. when you start to add a lot of P slots and then flips the script on the league and starts allowing for many more RPs. now the proposed changes will allow people to roster 6 RPs, which is stretching it some for flexibility, but anymore than that starts to change what people planned on too much. 3/3/4 would allow 7 RPs, thats too big of a rule change. right now, we're really just trying to keep our same basic team building concept from last year and translate it to daily rosters. Since daily rosters work differently than weekly ones, the slots don't translate perfectly. 10 spots in weekly < 10 spots in daily. they aren't the same. for instance because, i can rotate starters in and out on daily rosters, 3 SP spots in daily is about the equivalent of 5 SP spots in weekly. so we've built in a lot of cushion already.

So that 3rd option should be 3-3-4, right?

So that 3rd option should be 3-3-4, right? no re-read the post just above yours. we're not chnaging the format to allow that many RPs to be used.

Allowing 7 RP's would significantly change the value of RP's in our league. Having 9 slots instead of 10 won't be an impact now that we are going to daily. You will be able to move a SP or two to your bench when they don't start, so it's not like you were ever going to have 10 pitchers all get stats in one day.... That would be a rare fluke.

Poll is closed. We will be going with a 4/4/2 Pitching set up.
